The Irish Sangha Trust (IST) was established in 2011 to support and foster teaching and meditation practice in the Theravada Buddhist tradition in Ireland. The Irish Sangha Trust is non-profit Buddhist organization, entirely dependent on the generosity of the public for voluntary donations.

Our annual schedule includes regular workshops, retreats and meditation sittings. Events are open to everyone from beginners to experienced practitioners. We welcome you to join our spiritual friends network and experience the profound benefits of meditation practice.

Help Fund SuttaCentral

Bhante Sujato and the SuttaCentral team are planning a new round of developments for SuttaCentral, a repository of copyright-free Early Buddhist texts and translations.

Here are some of the developments they plan to do.

  1. Improve performance, especially on mobiles, and fix bugs such as erratic offline performance.
  2. Integrate the voice assistant so people can listen to Dhamma on audio.
  3. Incorporate user feedback to improve the interface and make it more accessible.
  4. Make it easier for users to find translations in their own language.
  5. Add support for export to books and EPUBs.
  6. Create “universal web components” allowing SC to be integrated with any website.
  7. Create a new editor and system for translating suttas.

More information about the planned developments can be found here.
